After the family’s arrival in Denver, Becky enrolled in business school, and during World War II, worked as a secretary at Lowry Air Force Base. Becky met her husband, Wayne, in 1946 and were married in Denver on Aug. 8, 1947. Later that year, Wayne and Becky relocated to Minneapolis so that Wayne could study baking. In 1953, Wayne opened a second bakery in Golden on Washington Street between Foss Drugs and Jack’s Pharmacy. In 1954, he gave up the Denver bakery and moved the family to Golden. Becky worked many long hours in the bakery assisting her husband. Soon after moving to Golden, Becky joined and became a lifelong member of the Golden Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. After selling the bakery, Becky found employment as a sales associate of better dresses at the May D&F; in the Westland Shopping Center.
